We are finally having some gorgeous weather, the kind that makes horseshoe pitching absolutely pleasurable. I hope if you live here in Florida that you are taking advantage of it!!!
The Club Team Tournament this year is in Winter Haven and they have blocked 15 rooms at the Holiday Inn and also 15 rooms at the Hampton Inn but to get the special rate you must call and reserve your room by DECEMBER 26th. Remember, the end of January is high season in Florida. Tell them “2017 Winter Haven Horseshoe Tournament”. The hotels are located at 200 & 202 Cypress Gardens Blvd., Winter Haven and share a common parking lot. (More specifics are available elsewhere in the newsletter). They are located just 2 miles away from the courts. ***It would be a good idea if you let your snowbird club members know so that they can book their rooms at the special rates***
Start talking to your club members and get your team spirit revved up!! Which club will take home the trophy this year?
Make sure to check the FSHPA website for all kinds of info and be sure to check the schedule once in awhile just to be sure you are aware of any changes that have been posted.

Happy Holidays everyone! Happy New Year! I
can't believe that 2017 is just around the corner!
We are already into our 9th month of
tournaments. All Florida residents please remember to get at least five
tournaments in so you can participate in our State Tournament in April 2017.
The Beverly Hills Horseshoe Club has
discovered a new form of advertising and it is FREE (well you do have to work a
little for it but will cost your club zero dollars)!! We have ADOPTED A HIGHWAY
on N Lecanto Hwy (491) in Citrus County, this means we have to go out and pick
up the litter four times a year. In return we have our name posted on the adopt
a highway sign...the county supplies all the equipment needed ....it is a
fantastic way to get our name out there plus helping the community
! Call your local county for more information to participate.
Don't forget we still have the
who pitched in the most tournaments award to be presented at our State
tournament in April....let's see if we can give Alan Kasch
a run for his money this season!
I am looking forward to seeing many of you
again at the various clubs throughout Florida. I do try to attend as many
tournaments as I can afford. I personally feel that being an officer of our
State I should try to visit as many clubs as possible. If there is anything I
can do for you please feel free to contact me. If I do not know the answer to
your questions I will research and get back to you. Again as always please please please try and recruit new
members into the wonderful world of horseshoe pitching...let them know how
great the sport is and how wonderful the people are that participate in it!

to run for the position of 1st Vice President again.
