Hello everyone our tournament season has started and I have had the pleasure of attending several already this year. I can’t seem to figure why my average continues to go down, guess Mark will have to be my “A” player again this year in the States Doubles. One thing I have noticed is it seems the attendance is down somewhat this year so everyone please look at your schedules and come out and support as many tournaments as you can. Maybe you aren’t able to pitch but could keep score which helps so much especially for the smaller clubs.

The Florida/Georgia tournament went very well in spite of the passing rain showers we experienced. Congratulations to the Crisp Team, the Brevard Team and Golden Isles for pitching well. I would also like to thank Joe, Howard, Regina, and all the gang at Flagler Palm Coast for their hard work and dedication to this great tournament. Flagler is a great place to hold this tournament and I am personally looking forward to next year.  Hopefully I will pitch better for my team.

Beverly Hills horseshoe club is working hard on the details for the Club Team Tournament as well as the State Closed. We will have the hotel information and the rules posted in this newsletter if not they will be posted straight away on the website as well.  The EC meeting is held on Friday, January 26, 2018 at 7pm.  Location TBD.  You are always welcome to attend.

So it is another election year, Secretary/Treasurer and 2nd VP are up for grabs. Marcy currently holds the office of Secretary/Treasurer and Vicki holds 2nd VP. These two ladies have been doing a superb job, but as always we will be taking nominations for these two positions. If anyone is interested please contact Mr. Boyd Stonerock to submit your name.

Finally, I hope that everyone has a great Thanksgiving and a special time during the Christmas holiday season. I personally have plenty to be thankful for and I submit that we all do.

It has been a rough start to our tournament season.  I know several clubs have had to cancel a tournament for one reason or another. Hurricane Irma was nobody’s friend. The important thing is, we can still get together on any given day and have some fun pitching shoes. It’s very important to all the clubs as well as the membership, to participate as much as possible. I hope the New Year will bring all of you peace and good will.
