Hello everyone,
To begin, I would like to thank the Flagler County Horseshoe club for a fun-filled club team tournament. The courts were perfect even though my team didn't do too well we sure couldn't blame it on the courts. The food was excellent each and every day and Al even made sure the weather was perfect. I would like to congratulate Sebring #2 on their victory as well as the other teams finishing in the money at this year's club team with additional thanks to all the other clubs who filled our ranks for a total of 11 teams this year.
The State Closed Horseshoe tournament is going to be held at the Brevard County Horseshoe Club. All preparations are about concluded- we are just finishing up a few details on the Executive Council end. The entry forms will be on our website and all the details on when, where, times etc. The host hotel is the Holiday Inn Express at 192 and 95, Melbourne. The schedule will be pretty much the same as last year. Annual Club Presidents & Executive Council meeting or designee, at the host hotel at 9:30 am on Wednesday, April 15th. We kick off competition with mixed doubles starting at 1:00 PM at the clubhouse in Wickham Park. (Note the early start time same as last year). Doubles on the 16th of April, singles on the 17th and 18th culminating with the championships after singles play on Saturday the 18th.
I seem to be the bearer of sad news but wanted everyone to know that we lost Gary Roberts, Tom Grills and Tom Gowan, they will be dearly missed. Please keep their families in your prayers and thoughts.
Lastly, make sure you get out there and get your tournaments in enabling you to pitch in the state tournament in Melbourne this year. I heard that Frank was looking for a cornhole partner to try and beat Mark and me, good luck with that. See you on the courts at a tournament soon as we have plenty to choose from.
