December 2011
Happy holidays to everyone! Thank you to all of you who have
sent in your state and NHPA dues to get your
2012 membership cards. I have had a very busy time with work lately so I’m behind
in my correspondence. I
will get these cards out to you as soon as I can. My job has
changed a lot since I took on the Secretary/Treasurer
position and I did not anticipate having to travel this much. Thank
you for your patience!
The 2011 cards expire on December 31st so please
send in your dues by then. All tournament directors will look
for you to have your 2012 cards in order to pitch in
tournaments starting January 2012. You
can find a member-
ship application on the FSHPA website at http://fshpa.com/member.htm. Just print it, fill it out COMPLETELY
and mail it to me (address is at the end of the application).
Or you can hand it to me in person if we see each
other at a tournament.
Give some thought to how you want to receive the newsletter.
If you have a computer with internet access you
can print the current and past newsletters from www.fshpa.com.
Read it there or print it off for yourself. Reducing
mailing costs will help the charter!
Longevity patches have been ordered from NHPA. You should be
getting them shortly. Congratulations to all!

We’re always learning
in life and change is always around us.
Whether it’s about horseshoes or just to enjoy all the moment to moment
precious blessings we’ve been given. I hope you are enjoying your moments on
the courts this season. I just pitched a
31% average for 5 games—even though I entered with a 53%. I just couldn’t figure out what I was doing
wrong, but my competitors (who know how I normally pitch) just gave me
encouraging words. Even though I lost
all 5 games, I came away having enjoyed my day out in the sunshine and the
fellowship. Dale & I went out in the backyard the next day and I had no
trouble with my game. Speaking of change – attitudinally or otherwise, our
FSHPA could use someone to chair the Publicity and Promotions committee. Could it be you? I’m waiting to hear from you.
