COMMENTS FROM 2^ND VP

I hope everyone is able to get out there and pitch—there are plenty of tournaments to participate in most any direction in our state. Our snowbirds are flocking from colder climes and it is good to see them. The Club Team Tournament is just around the corner at the end of January, have you got your required tournaments in to qualify for your club?

We have a few FSHPA things going on—there are still several vacancies on various committees, e.g., the By-Laws and Constitution committee has a chairperson, Boyd Stonerock but no one else to share the duties to review the by-law changes before our April 2014 annual meeting. There aren’t any suggested by-law changes at present but Boyd shouldn’t have to shoulder the responsibility alone if there are. I would like to have someone else involved on the Grievance Committee, Chuck Johnston of the Clearwater Club was a member on this committee but he has moved overseas (by the way, he was also the FSHPA Historian). There is still a need for a Promotional Committee chairperson. We have an excellent campaign recommendation procedure outline with many promotional ideas provided to us by Tom Martone of the Flagler County Horseshoe Pitching Club. He has worked on how to increase membership. He has his hands full in his local area but we need someone to spearhead this in our state. How about it, are you able to be involved with your Executive Council to keep our charter running smoothly?
