COMMENTS 1ST VP

I can’t believe our 2015 – 2106 tournament season is over! Congratulations to the Bradenton Horseshoe Club for hosting a successful State Tournament and to all the individual winners!  An extra special thank you to Marcella for all the hard work she does.  I also want to thank each and every one of you, your spouses, friends, etc. that keep score for us at each tournament during the season. It is really appreciated you are all champions in my book! It is a pleasure and an honor to be your 1st Vice President if there is anything I can do for you please do not hesitate to call or email me. I will try my best to help you and if I do not know the answers I will research until I find them.   Every member should know that this is an excellent board of directors and they are working very hard for each and every one of you. I will be attending the World Horseshoe Tournament for the first time this year and am looking forward to seeing many of my fellow Floridian players (and our snowbirds) there! I wish the best of luck to you all! I am looking forward to September when our tournament season begins again. Each and every one of us should try to introduce one person to the wonderful world of horseshoe pitching to keep our sport alive. Word of mouth is a very powerful  tool !

I hope you all have a safe and wonderful summer!

Until then…..keep those ringers coming,

Do you believe it’s September already? Where did the summer go? My husband Chris and I attended our first World Tournament in August. I didn’t feel well and pitched even worse, but had a great time meeting the other pitchers from all over the U.S.  I was very impressed that there were so many cadets and juniors. My hope is that someday soon we will have one or more youngsters from Florida at the Worlds. We are going to miss 2017 in Utah, but looking forward to 2018 in Florence, SC.

Now the local news. The Tournament season gets into full swing starting in Beverly Hills Sept. 10th.  As before, check the schedule on the FSHPA web site for dates and times. All of our clubs need your participation and support and not just to pitch, don’t forget most of the tournaments also need scorekeepers. If you know anybody who thinks they might want to pitch but is unsure, invite them to watch one of your tournaments or league play. I have had people join our club after seeing how much fun we have.
