LATEST INFO ON TOURNAMENT SCHEDULE CHANGES AND OTHER ITEMS OF INTEREST TO FSHPA INC. MEMBERS

Lodging for 2010 State Championship Tournament in Melbourne, Florida.  John Peplinski received an E-mail from the Days Inn in Melbourne (the designated motel for the Horseshoe Championships) that the hotel expects a “sell out” over the weekend of April 23rd due to another group staying there with the Days Inn.  Due to this, could we possibly get the word out to our membership that they recommend we make our reservations as soon as possible and even before our cut off date of April 5th.  Credit cards will be required to hold reservations but not charged.  Guests always have the option to cancel up until the day before, without penalty.  Better to have a reservation than not have one and need it, right?  Days Inn phone number is:  321-724-2051.

Information Regarding Florida State Horseshoe Championships in Melbourne is now on the Melbourne Web Site and the Florida Web Site (click yellow banner).  On the web site you will find Entry Forms, Schedules, Activities, Lodging, Partner Request, Ad Booklet & Misc.  Also a fun game – Can you guess who will be the champions this year?  Check it out you can win a $50 prize.

Woody Two-Shoes, NHPA Horseshoe Pitching Man Silhouette, will make its Florida debut at the Summerfield Del Webb Spruce Creek CC Tournament on February 20, 2010.  The information about

this NHPA horseshoe mascot is on the Summerfield, Florida Web Site.  Woody should bring some additional fun and excitement to our Florida World of Horseshoes.

Sebring has a new Alternate Tournament Director Clyde Hardman.  See the Florida Schedule of Tournaments for 2009-2010 on the Florida Web Site for details.

The Villages Horseshoe Club is changing back to $20 entry fee and each person Pays the Scorekeeper $1 per game (code YY) for the 3 Villages Tournaments that are left to play this Season.  (#042-Jan.16, 2010, #056-Feb.27, 2010, & #066-March 27, 2010)  To see what the prize money will be for these three tournaments go to The Villages Web Site by the Tournament Results.

Ocala, On Top of The World Tournament dated March 20, 2010 will be Count-all Scoring “Ringers Only” each ringer counting 1 point.  (code VV on the Schedule of Tournaments)  Also it will be bring your own food (brown bag it).  They will have water and soda available.

Suwannee River Tournament dated April 17, 2010 is CANCELLED due to the fact that the Florida State Championship Tournament week starts on April 19, 2010 with the Melbourne Three Person Team Tournament.
