COMMENTS FROM THE PRESIDENT

Hello everyone,

It was a great pitching season and I personally pitched in more tournaments this year than ever before, guess that is what retirement is all about. I want to thank all the tournament directors around our great state for working so hard to put on all of our tournaments. (77 Tournaments)

As the summer heat starts to set in I would like to thank all who participated in the various tournaments that were held. Please try to visit some of the smaller clubs next pitching season; you may find a hidden gem.

I would also like to thank the Beverly Hills Horseshoe club for this year’s State Tournament. It was one of the best I have attended in my short pitching career. The courts were in great shape, the food was superb, and yes of course Mike petitioned to have the weather perfect. Thank you Mike for you and your club for going the extra mile to make this year’s States one to talk about for years to come. To the members please let your club presidents know how you liked the format changes, the banquet a little less formal and on Friday vice Saturday. I for one had a great time, the food was wonderful and the whole set-up was well arranged.

My final thoughts for the year, I would like to thank all of you that has signed up for the World Tournament we are second only to Ohio for entries, at last count we have over 40 entries. My bride and I plan on spending two weeks again this year so we will be there to keep score for you as well as cheer you on. I hope that you are taking advantage in going to World’s this year, as it is only a short drive to South Carolina, I can’t wait to see you all there.

I hope to see you at the World Tournament if not, I hope you have a great relaxing summer and I will see you at one of our tournaments starting in the fall season.

                                                                                                 God Bless,

                                                                                 Dale Marteney
