Thank you to the Beverly
Hills showed up early, stayed late and pitched in where ever possible.
Thanks also to all the
scorekeepers!!! We really appreciate all the pitchers and non-pitchers who
stepped up and sat down in a scorekeeper’s chair. We can’t have a
smooth tournament without you all so thank you, thank you, thank you!!
State tournament
participation went up a bit this year We
had 30 Mixed Doubles teams, 3 more than last year; we had 44 Doubles teams, up
from 38 last year; and singles events had the same participation as last year
with 104 pitchers.
Our cocktail party was
held on Thursday evening this year at the courts following the doubles
tournament. Vicki and Dale Marteney were their usual
awesome bartender selves again and the Beverly Hills folks provided many
delicious dishes – wings, meatballs, salads, cheese, olives…you name it!!
Friday was our first
attempt at trying a new time for the annual banquet. Holding the banquet
Friday evening allowed more folks to attend without having to book an extra
night at the hotel. We saw many first-time banquet goers! We enjoyed
a delicious BBQ buffet, socializing time and held our annual banquet meeting.
Congratulations to all
the pitchers who won special awards and patches:
