APRIL 19/20, 2010
The three
person team tournament is again part of the State Tournament week. The three person team tournament is scheduled
for Monday and Tuesday, April 19th and 20th, 2010. Some players will
like it some won't, but here is how it is played.
Each team
consists of three people, one of which maybe be a 30
foot pitcher. The team combined ringer
percentage can not exceed 120.00%. The
classes will consist of 6 - 3 player teams. Each player will play one game
against each player on the other 5 teams, for a total of 15 games; eight games
on Monday and 7 games on Tuesday. The
games will be 40 shoe cancellation scoring, non handicap with tied games
counting one half point, no play offs. The team with the most wins will be
declared the winner and all other teams in the class will be ranked according
to wins and losses. Tied positions in wins and losses will be determined by
total team ringer percentage. Ringer
percentages will be taken as of April 1, 2010.

What is
the best strategy to organize a team? Do
you have a high average player that will probably win all of their games (15)
and then hope that the other two players will win enough games to carry the
team, or do you put three 40% players on a team hoping that they will win more
games over the lower percentage players than will be lost to higher ringer
percentage players? You decide but do
consider entering as this can be a very entertaining and exciting
tournament. Come along and cheer on your
teammates. After all the teams should be
fairly equal as the 120 point team limit almost guarantees it. However, if a team enters with much less than
120 points they will be at a definite disadvantage.
If you
have any questions about the format or the tournament in general please call
