Personal:

Born 1940 in Matawan, N.J., Married Margaret McGaucghie of Union City, N.J. and have five children, 13 Grandchildren and Two Great Grandchildren. Graduated Matawan High School 1958, Brookdale Community College 1970 and Rutgers University 1974 - Environmental Science Major - Business Administration Minor.

Work Experience - Full Time

Retired in 1996 from Merck Sharp and Dome as Manager after 30 yrs of service.  Started out as Lab a Technician in Biophysics and Pharmacology then attended and Graduated College after which held positions of Jr. Chemist, Chemist, Chemical Engineer, Environmental Engineer and retired after 15 yrs. as Manager with the title of Resource Management Coordinator. I  co-authored of several scientific papers on Nuclear Magnetic Resonance associated with the Development of drugs to control Leukemia. My role as Manager was to oversee a $28,000,000 annual budget and $500,000,000 operating budget.

Work Experience - Part Time

Retired in 1998 from Aberdeen Twp, Keyport and Matawan Borough after 36 Yrs. of Service. Held positions as Health, Building, Plumbing, Electrical & Air Pollution Inspector as well as Supervisor of Demolition. Obtained the following State Licenses to perform the above positions. Sanitary Inspector 1st & 2nd Grade, Air Pollution Inspector, Food & Drug Inspector, Mechinical Inspector, Building Inspector (HHS) Hazardous High Rise Structures, Plumbing Inspector (HHS), Electrical Inspector (HHS).

 Horseshoe Pitching History:

Joined the New Jersey Chapter of the NHPA in 1993 and have competed in the World Tournament every year since. My most noted finishes were 1st Place in Red Deer, 3rd Place in both Kitchner & Syracuse.

I joined the Florida Chapter in 2000 and was a member of the Beverly Hills Club for several years. I served as Tournament Director for 3 years. When the HSMaster Software program was introduced by NHPA I helped teach other clubs here in Florida how to use it and still do. I am a member of the BYLAWS and the Hall Of Fame Committee for FSHPA. Currently I am engaged in the construction & development of our new Horseshoe Courts at Oak Bend where we have held monthly NHPA Tournaments since October 2010.

Twice I have placed 1st in my class at the Florida State Tournament at 40 FT. and last year I Tied for 3rd in the  30ft Championship Class.
