BOB MARKS CANDIDATE FOR FIRST VP

HI ALL FSHPA MEMBERS,

My name is Robert (Bob) Marks and I’m a candidate for First V.P. for the FSHPA.  I will try my very best to

Fill the vacancy that Ron Deckard will leave, with him not seeking reelection.

My background, owning and operating three successful businesses.  The first was a machine shop in

Indiana, making specialty parts for the auto industry, farm industry etc.  The second was an over the road

Trucking company, hauling dedicated freight, in Indiana, Illinois, Michigan, Ohio, with several big trucks

in the operation.  The third was a neat business, a charter fishing boat business on Lake Michigan.  They

All had their little character differences, but all were challenging, learning and fun businesses.  I currently

Hold the Tournament Director position for Winter Haven Horseshoe Club.  It’s a fun position to have; you

Meet a lot of Good People.

If elected to the first V.P. position, I will do, whatever is required for that position and the good of the

FSHPA, NHPA.  Will do my very best to promote the game of Horseshoes in the state of Florida and

across the land.  I have strong feelings and thoughts about how to get our youth involved in the game of

Horseshoe, because they are our life blood.

                                                                                                                 Sincerely

                                                                                                                 Robert Marks

LET’S GET TOGETHER AT THE STATE CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNAMENT

Thursday evening immediately after the conclusion of pitching the State Association along with the St. Cloud Club will host an informal get together at Heritage Park Inn motel.  The St. Cloud Club will provide snacks/finger food and the State Association will provide wine, beer and soft drinks.  Come to Heritage Park Inn after pitching as you will enjoy renewing acquaintances and re-telling stories of the good old days.

The annual Friday night cocktail party/get together will be held at the Heritage Park Inn motel.   The party will start at 6:00 pm and conclude at 8:00 pm.  This party is always well attended and will be a fun time for all.  See you there.

The annual Awards Banquet will be held at the Heritage Park Inn motel.  A cash bar will be open at 6:30 pm with the dinner being served at 7:30 pm.  The annual Awards presentation will be conducted at the conclusion of the dinner.  Tickets for the banquet are $20.00 each and should be ordered along with your singles entry as we must give the caterer and accurate estimate of the number of members attending the banquet.

The dinner will be chicken marsala and roast beef.   Along with the entrees will be a vegetable medley, garlic mashed potatoes, salad, dinner rolls, coffee and iced tea.  The cash bar will remain open during the dinner and the awards presentation.

Always a hi lite of the banquet is the awarding of door prizes immediately proceeding the presentation of awards.  This year it is anticipated that there will be many nice prizes donated by the St. Cloud Club, the State Association and other sponsors.  Many free tournament entries for next year will be donated as door prizes by our member clubs.
