The Bradenton Web Site now has a button that says "Click here for info about the Florida State Horseshoe Championships."  It shows everything you need to know about the State Tournament in Bradenton this year, April 18, 19, 20 & 21, 2012. It has a Welcome Letter, State Tournament Booklet Ad Information, Shirt Order Form, Lodging Reservations, RV Parks, Annual Meeting, Friday Night Party, Banquet, Need a Partner? Entry Form Mx Dbls, Entry Form Dbls, and Entry Form Singles.  After April 1st it will have the Entries for the State Tournament and Schedules for the State Tournament. There is also a fun game with a prize called Hot Spot Contest.  A special Thanks to Jim Smith for getting the FL State Horseshoe Championships link on the Bradenton web site.  Also a special Thanks to the Bradenton State Tournament Committee (Lois & Tim Hottinger, Paul & Pat Dumas, Stuart Lindberg, Kent DeBruler, Sandy Hummel and Hazel & Shirley Ingles) for getting the information to the EC, Jim Smith and Marvin Grubb. 

Also Marvin Grubb has the same information regarding the Florida State Horseshoe Championships Tournament on the Florida Web Site. Just double click on the yellow banner under the Horseshoe Clubs. Remember you need to have your entry form sent to Marcela Santoyo, address is on the form, and Entries must be postmarked no later than April 1, 2012. The Singles Form also has the order form for the Saturday Night Banquet on it. Click Entry Form Singles.

It is not too early to start thinking about hotel reservations. Each person must make their own reservation. When you call, let the Quality Inn know you are with the Florida Horseshoe State Tournament. Reservations need to be made by April 1, 2012 and must be made by telephone to get the discounted rate. The souvenir shirt pre-order form is also on the web site with many choices of shirts, with collars, pockets, names printed on back and front, lots of sizes and also T-shirts. The order form even shows the shirt logo. You need to have your order sent to Lois Hottinger to arrive no later than April 1, 2012. The shirts will be there at the State Tournament on the Wednesday of the State Tournament. There will only be a few T-shirts with the logo for sale at the tournament, so if you would like a shirt with your name already on it you need to pre-order. It looks like April 1st, 2012 is the magic number to remember to get all your forms sent in, the Entry Forms for the State Tournament, Souvenir Shirt Pre-order Form and Lodging Reservation, except the Ad Book that date is March 17, 2012.

Remember to check the “Information about important changes in FSHPA tournaments, schedules, etc.” -- on all the Florida Clubs Web Sites it is about half way down the front page of each club’s web site. Just click and it will have the Florida World of Horseshoes News. It might be a good idea very Wednesday when you check your NATSTATS average you could go to your club’s web site, and check to see if there are any changes in the FSHPA tournaments, schedules, etc. If you know of any fellow horseshoe pitchers who do not have Internet access please let them know of any changes. Just a thought!

Right now there are two important changes to the Florida Schedule of Tournaments for 2011-2012. We have two new Tournament Directors Ron Fair for the Beverly Hills Horseshoe Club Tournaments and Bob LeBlanc for the Oak Bend, Ocala Horseshoe Club Tournaments. The information was too late to get into this March Newsletter printed copy, but Marvin Grubb has put the information in the Schedule of Tournaments for 2011-2012 on the Florida Web Site and in the March 2012 Newsletter on the Florida Web Site. The tournament date and information is the same just the Tournament Directors are changed and the address to send your tournament check.
