MEETING NOTES- JANUARY EC MEETING

January 30, 2015

1. Call to order by President Bob Hilpersthauser

a. EC present: Bob Hilpertshauser, Bob Lemon, Vicki Marteney, Marcy Santoyo, Boyd Stonerock,

Gwen Mehrwerth (via Facetime)

b. Ron Mehrwerth also attending to give State Tournament update

2. By-law changes

a. Article XIV , section 2 – amend from “Anyone may recommend a candidate” to add “utilizing

the FSHPA Hall of Fame nomination form”

b. Boyd brought up needing to change requirements for HOF. Currently reads “(a) a resident of

Florida and an FSHPA Inc. member for a minimum of five years” and (b) an outstanding player

or a member who has performed outstanding service to FSHPA Inc., and/or NHPA, over a

period of many years. Suggests minimum of 10 years. He will submit by-law change to be voted

on at annual meeting.

c. Article III, Section 2 currently reads “A junior is a person, aged up to 17 years, who will not have

his/her 18th birthday during the membership year”. Suggest change to “A junior is a person

eighteen (18) years old or younger for the entire calendar year”

d. Article XI section 7 change to 100 shoes or more instead of 400 shoes or more

3. STATE TOURNAMENT update from Ron Mehrwerth

a. Friday night party – state pays $350, rest covered by host club

b. Banquet dinner – selected choices, Ron to get final pricing

c. Hotel finalized

d. Plaques – not yet finalized

4. Income/expense report – accepted, copies sent to audit committee

5. Team tournament

a. prize list finalized

b. future team tournaments only 1 team designated by the club to vie for tournament, all teams

eligible for prize money. Motion to vote: Bob H, Second Bob L voted unanimously

6. STATE TOURNAMENT

a. Tie breakers – same as last year

b. Establish agenda for annual meeting and banquet

c. Entry forms and information – EC will double check forms, send any issues to Bob H

d. Prize list – same as last year, incl $450 added from Lucas Oil

e. Notice to check statistics prior to handing out prizes will be posted at tournament

7. Open discussion

a. Boyd Stonerock proposal to get new members incentive set aside $100 to members who bring in

the most members in 2015 and state dues paid for any member who brings in at least 5 members.

Passing to Lee Kohlhaffer to follow up and consider for next year’s promotion budget.
