Article 10 State Championship
Tournament
Section 3. Eligibility of
entrants:
Currently reads:
b. A member must have pitched in a minimum of five (5) FSHPA Inc.
sanctioned tournaments during the preceding "tournament year". An
NHPA sanctioned league membership may be counted as one (1) qualifying
tournament, if it covers 400 shoes or more. A State Championship Tournament,
shall not count as a qualifying tournament in any "tournament year"
Proposed change:
b. An adult
member must have pitched in a minimum of five (5) FSHPA Inc. sanctioned
tournaments during the preceding "tournament year". An NHPA
sanctioned league membership may be counted as one (1) qualifying tournament,
if it covers 400 shoes or more. A State Championship Tournament, shall not count as a qualifying tournament in any "tournament
year".
c. A Junior member must have
pitched in a minimum of three (3) FSHPA Inc. sanctioned tournaments during the
preceding "tournament year". An NHPA sanctioned league membership may
be counted as one (1) qualifying tournament, if it covers 400 shoes or more. A
State Championship Tournament, shall count as a qualifying tournament in any
"tournament year".
Reason: A 5 tournament
minimum excluding State Closed tournament for a Junior
pitcher imposes undue hardships because of transportation issues. Additional
considerations include loss of tournament club revenues and prize payouts when
there are more junior pitchers in a class.
