March 2017
Happy Spring to everyone!
We currently have 258 members which is a little lower than this same
time last year (270). In 2016 at the
March newsletter printing we had 270 members, 292 members in 2015 and 276
members in 2014. If you haven’t renewed
your membership, now is the time! It’s also a great time to ask your neighbor
or friend to come pitch with you. Let’s grow our membership again!
I missed this year’s Club Team Tournament because I had to
go up to South New Jersey to help my father-in-law who was in the hospital for
about a week. He had a couple of
procedures and then spent a couple of weeks getting strong enough to get around
on his own again. I heard good reports
from everyone, though. Congratulations
to all winners!
Remember that if you need anything, you can give me a call
or send me a text message using my cell number 407.399.4908 or if you prefer,
you can email me using marcysantoyo@hotmail.com. I try to answer my cell right away but if
you get my voice mail, please leave a message. I’ll call you back as soon as
possible.
Our East coast clubs are having lower turn outs at
tournaments. Please consider traveling
for at least one tournament a year to one of our east coast clubs to help boost
their attendance.
Looking forward to seeing you all at the state tournament in
April at Clearwater!!
See you in April at the state tournament!

Wow where has the year gone? It sure seems
to fly by faster and faster as you get older. I hope to see many of you at the
State Horseshoe Tournament to be held in April by the host chapter Clearwater.
Remember that you need at least 5 FSHPA sanctioned tournaments, excluding the
2016 State Closed Tournament. during the preceding
"tournament year" in order to participate.
I want to thank everyone for taking the tme to be scorekeepers at all the tournament this year. It
is a very important job and I know that all the players appreciate your help.
Please try to get members for your clubs and spread the world of horseshoe
pitching to one and all. It is very important that we do this to keep our sport
alive. I want to thank each and every one of you again for all the help that
you do. If there is anything I can be assistance with please call and let me
know.
For
all our snowbirds that will be heading back home have a safe and healthy summer
and we will see you again in the fall.
Until
then...
Keep
those ringers going.
