PRESIDENTS COMMENTS

Hello everyone, it has been a great year of pitching so far. Vicki and I have attended more tournaments this year so far than ever before, guess thatÕs what retirement can do for you. The State Club Team Tournament went very well.  Beverly Hills put on a great show and the hospitality was second to none. Congratulations to Brevard who finished first, Flagler second, Oviedo third, followed by Flagler #2 team, Oak Bend, Sebring #2 finally Bradenton, a good time was had by all.

As advertised, our Secretary/Treasurer and 2nd VP were up for election this year, there were no candidates; thankfully Marcy and Vicki will stay on for another two year term as Secretary/Treasurer and 2nd VP in support of our FSHPA. If anyone is interested in being part of the FSHPA executive council please consult one of us and we would be more than happy to give you an explanation of the positions.

I would again like to thank Marcy, Janet, Vicki, and Peggy for their dedication to our FSHPA. They all work very hard most often behind the scenes. That goes unnoticed; please accept my undying gratitude for all you do.

The State Tournament will be upon us before we know it. It will be held at the Beverly Hills Horseshoe Club from 18-21 April 2018. The Presidents and Executive Council meeting will be held 18 April at 0930 in the civic building across from the courts.  Please make sure your authorized representativeÕs name for voting is sent to Marcy prior to the meeting. Plan to attend for more on what is going on with your own charter. You might get voted in as Secretary/Treasurer if you donÕt show up. Just kidding but we do put out valuable information and we would like your personal input.

There are a few changes in the schedule for the state tournament this year. First we will have the cocktail party on Thursday night at the courts immediately following play. Second, in an effort to gain more participation at our banquet we have scheduled it for Friday evening across the street from the courts at approximately 6:30 (exact time will be published later) cost will only be $20.00. This is a much more informal ŌbanquetÕ, so come as you are.  We will have the annual presentations, awards, and yes, of course the door prizes.

We have plenty more tournaments prior to the 1 April cutoff date so make sure you donÕt get shutout. See you on the courts.
