SEC/TRES
Welcome back to
horseshoes! I know many of us don't pitch much during the hot summer months but
its time to get the arm loose again. Looking forward to seeing everyone as the
new tournament season starts.
Lots of
!!!>>>>>>>>The
membership voted to increase State Dues by $1 starting in 2014 so please
remember to send in $28 instead of $27 this year when you
re-up.<<<<<<<<!!!
Also, please
note that new 2014 cards DO NOT ARRIVE UNTIL SOMETIME IN OCTOBER. Please
don't send in your renewals until at least October 15. If you send
earlier you'll be waiting longer for your new cards.
Your 2013 cards
are good through December 31, 2013 so there is no need to panic about getting
your 2014 card a full quarter before the year even starts.
Happy pitching!
See you on the courts!

Happy, Happy, Happy!! is what I’ll be when this summer heat is over for a spell. Dale & I haven’t touched our horseshoes since the State Closed tournament in April and I’m a little horseshoe shy since I had problems in April with my pitching. I know I have to get back up on the horseshoe pitching and ride again but still… Dale is working on his Masters degree—it’ll be over in December (after two years) then you will see him attending tournaments on a more regular basis.
Our season
will begin with a regular rhythm right away in September. Flagler will debut their first regular
tournament and it looks like
You know it takes a village… to run this organization—it just seems that we don’t have many villagers willing to give some of their time. As an example, Bob Lemon is the 1st Vice President but he is also acting as the Promotions chairman since Jim Smith stepped down after many years. Maybe you have some ideas about promoting our sport—maybe you can’t physically do the job but you can share your mental powers—we take all ideas!! If you want to help out in any way, let someone on the Executive Council know. We are also looking for someone to compile the newsletter and send it out because Marvin Grubb has been the mainstay for that but he has been ready to pass that baton to someone else now.
Keep on pitching and I’ll be seeing you on the courts.
Vicki Marteney, 2nd Vice President
